0. Before the Journey

Hello and Welcome!

This week is designed to introduce you to the MOOC leadership journey, the space itself as well as the other people in the MOOC. We invite you to spend this week identifying and reflecting about the leadership challenges that you face.

To start off, we invite you to get to know the MOOC team better. Brigitta Villaronga, head of GIZ's Leadership Development Unit, and Klaus Althoff, principal advisor of the GIZ "Climate Leadership Plus" program, give you a warm welcome with "Ten good reasons 2 MOOC".

Your activities of the week are structured under the following headlines: Reflect & Connect, Participate, Share, Read and Watch.

The activities offered under Reflect & Connect have two options: If you only have a little bit of time this week (approx. 30 minutes), go to the activities labeled with ALL MOOC travelers and for a deeper journey (approx. 2 hours) we provide you with extra challenges.
Find out  how the course is set up and what you can expect here.

Every journey starts with preparation: you need arrange your route, get your passport (profile) ready and you check in. We invite you to do this now.

Reflect & Connect

We invite ALL MOOC  travelers to embark on the journey individually and collectively. Please participate in the following activities to do so.

Check in to the MOOC Journey and meet fellow travelers from around the world!
What is your personal story or project you want to move forward with by joining the MOOC? How does leadership matter in this context?
Update your profile and share who you are
At the minimum, upload a picture and update your location. This will help you all see who else lives in your neighborhood!

Extra challenges for the deep leadership journey:
Take these challenges if you have the chance to invest some more time in your leadership journey. You will get a more intensive learning experience if you join a peer group for small group reflections and do the following activities.

Map your personal leadership challenges This exercise will help you gain clarity on, and a deeper understanding of your personal learning intentions for the MOOC. Once you have created your map, share it in your peer learning group.
Find or build your peer learning group for the MOOC! We encourage you to build learning groups as a venue for regular exchange during the MOOC, network-building and future co-creation.
