Contract Signing Ceremony at CDD in Accra, Ghana

We would like to announce the selected partnerships that will receive funding for a start-up project:

  3. Perfector of Sentiments (POS) Foundation/Ghana in collaboration with Liquid Democracy/Germany: "Africa Youth Democracy Web Platform - the Youths Perspective in Governance and Development"
  4. Regional Advisory and Information Network Systems (RAINS)/Ghana in collaboration with Academy for Local Democracy (ALD)/Germany: "Participative School Budgeting - Empowering Children for Participation"

Congratulations to the winners!

The Commitment for Africa project contract signing ceremony finally took place at the conference room of the Ghana Center for Democratic Development (CDD-Ghana) on Friday, March 21, 2014. All the initially selected four civil society organizations were in attendance, and they were as follows: Mr. Jonathan Osei-Wusu- POS Foundation; Mr. Richard Kuunaah- GHANEcare; Dr. Sulemana Abdullah- RAINS; Mr. David Kwasi Afreh- OMEGA.

CDD Ghana was represented by Dr Franklin Oduro, Deputy Executive Director; Dr. Edem Selormey, Senior Research Fellow; Mr. Nathaniel Okang, Head of Finance; Mr. Theodore Dzeble, Head of Communications; and Mr. Isaac Kwaku Ofosu Debrah, Coordinator and M&E Officer for Commitment for Africa Project.

Mr. Debrah officially welcomed participants to the programme.  This was followed by prelusory remarks from Dr. Oduro, who narrated how the project started and congratulated the selected CSOs for making it this far. After that participants introduced themselves to the audience. There were also short remarks by Mr. Okang, Mr. Dzeble, and Dr. Selormey.

The media was also heavily represented. In all there were 10 media houses, both electronic and print in attendance.

With the contract ceremony done, project implementation start in earnest. We wish you the very best in this current phase of the project.
