About this Module

IDevice Icon Objectives
In this module the logistics areas and the complete logistics systems will be explained by a fictitious example of a textile plant in an East African country.

Logistics can be divided into different areas. Every area has its own responsibility, but there is a great dependence between these areas. Therefore logistics should be seen as a complete system.

Often the term "Supply Chain" is used.

For a production business, logistics is considered in four steps:

  1. Purchasing logistics
  2. Production logistics
  3. Distribution logistics
  4. Disposal logistics

In this module we will examine these areas and we will look for the main tasks of each area and differentiate between them.
